I start a thread where you can advertise advertisements you think are worth viewing. I’ll try to update this thread regularly with more or less famous TV spots. I post it in the static-b-gone forum because.

French Citroen C4 (UK version)
Honda Accord (UK version)

Ooooh. Now I have a reason to get an FTP password... smile.gif

Oddly enough, in the course of my job, I run into a lot of commercials. So, I'll take requests. If you're looking for a specific commerical, tell me as much as you can about it, and I'll try to see if I can find it.

I'll upload one or two in the next couple of days.

Now, this isn't a advert as much as it is a 'answer' to the French Citroen C4 ad that Lyrt presented, so it may have to go.

Especially since Europeans, people who like the Lupin anime, and car nuts will get the joke. smile.gif

You'll take requests? In 2001, IBM released a series of commercials featuring Avery Brooks (Capt. Sisko from Star Trek Deep Space Nine), and there was one where he said that it's the 21st century, and he had been promised flying cars - "WHERE ARE MY FLYING CARS?"

I spent months scouring the internet, and never found a copy. If you can, I will be very happy.

Honda Accord (UK version)

I couldn't make this one work. Do you have the codec for it handy?

Sadly, while I found a copy, it was in a 'Subscribers Only' area that I don't have access to. And, at $200/year, I probably won't ever have access to it. sad.gif

First Round: Failure!

But I'll still keep an eye out... Maybe I'll find a drunk Trekkie who still has it. wink.gif

There was a commercial about a year ago for the Saturn Ion. The car was drving around and abducting clowns to some weird music. I should like to see that again if anyone can find it. I saw it listed at some "old commercial archive" site, but they wanted two euros outta me...

Since I am a member of said European archive (If you like commercials, it's well worth the €2/month, and they're good folks), here it is...

Second Round: Success!!

I really don't understand... Even though two things that you don't have to advertise to sell are Alcohol and Cars, those two groups always seem to come up with the coolest commercials....

Such as Brahma Beer and Peugeot.

Another week, another contribution. No cars or beer this time, however.

Just a little ad from Thailand about The Dangers of Not Using the Updated Yellow Pages and a Flash rendering of a British (I think) Nintendo DS Commerical

Enjoy.

From a different thread:

QUOTE (rabbitinpumpkin)
(reference to cereal product two kids give to their kid brother "Mikey" because he'll eat it.)

I thought that Mikey didn't like anything - hence the suprise when "Mikey likes it!"

It was Life brand cereal. Perhaps Esbeemer can find it. I will attempt a search, and if I find anything, I'll add it here.

You're right - They were amazed because he actually liked it because the boy was a picky eater, and would have been backhanded by any decent parent. smile.gif

I've actually been looking for this spot as well - Because it ran for so long (11 years or so), and it's be so iconic, no one on the IntarWeb seems to have a decent print available for download.

I did get a crappy lo-res RealMedia copy I'll be more than happy to share if folks want it, but it's pretty crappy. Just let me know.

Ooh ooh! I've got one. A couplefew years ago a car company (Toyota maybe?) had a spot where a bunch of ad execs were thinking up ideas to get the word out about a big sale and they hit on sending chain letters.

Scene shifts to man coming home and opening his mail. He sees the chain letter and reads the part where bad luck will strike those who do not pass on the letter. He laughs and throws the letter in the trash. Just then, a lighting fixture flanking the door buzzes and goes out. The man looks from the dead light to the letter in the trash and then to the remaining light fixture. Then, out of nowhere, the man is crushed by a falling chandelier.

The ad-boys decide not to use chain letters.

Good hunting!

Ah! One of the first releases from Budget Rent-A-Car's 'Brainstorming' series (My personal fave is the 'Aromatherapy Candles')....

So, without further ado - Chain Letters

Oh, and while I'm here and thinking about it... A couple of South African PS2 Commercials. Different from the David Lynch ones, and cooler. But I hate David Lynch. smile.gif

You Da Man, Es.

Here's another one. Some low-rent cell phone company had a old woman talking all hip saying how "they were at this slammin' party getting all sorts of nasty", while a group of old timers are bumping and grinding in the background.

Oh, and those South African PS2 commercials were seriously intense. Never see that in the USA.

Ahhh. Boost Mobile's first ads. There was the one you mentioned (which you can get HERE, and another one with a geezer 'gettin' her freak on' with a big star in the back of a Hummer limo (no, it's not as bad as it sounds - These are American commercials, and even cable can only go so far) HERE..

Each one of these has a minor variant version as well, if this isn't the one you're looking for.

Boost Moble commercials are the 'inspiration' for the 'Poser Mobile' commercials that T-Moble Prepaid is using today. smile.gif

Damn. I'm on a roll!

EDIT - Screwed up the Links. Should work now

At the risk of posting more today than I have for the past month...

However, I'm taking this risk because, dammit, you need to see this Chinese Commerical: There's Always Room For Product Crossovers!!
