![]() Evidence would suggest I have indeed travelled too far away from what most view as normal. ![]() The prior "Enjoy Banana Life" campaign did not work well. |

The young girl in the ad does not appear to be very happy about her Sweet Potato flavored ice cream. I wonder if this is because she does not like the flavor of yams, or is the ice cream missing the little marshmallows and/or brown sugar that typically go with sweet potatoes?
Does the "Coney Island" printed on the cup actually serve real all-beef coney dogs? James :? |

I think something was "Lost in Translation" here. I have no idea what the thought is here with the first line of this post. I think the poster really likes your pictures though, and seems to believe you have posted them with no irony whatsoever. How did I do? James :? |

Translation status: found. Congrats, Hardware. I probably couldn't have deciphered that tidbit even if I wasn't partially drunk and very tired.
The flavor of the ice cream, though, doesn't strike me as particularly strange at all. I've read and heard about various other strange flavors of ice cream that have been presented in various cultures through time, and some of them are just downright wacko. One I read about, I think it was called Wedding Bells, had rose petals and champagne in it, while another was just an all-out veggie fest. Gross if you asked me. I'll stick to dutch chocolate with white chocolate chips, or better yet, just plain cinnamon ice cream. Mmmmmm... -------------------- Super-witty sig line! Don't copy!

As a lover of the mighty sweet potato, I find the ice cream flavor intriguing, and wish to subscribe to its newsletter.
And Hardware, marshmallows and brown sugar are to be used in sweet potato pie only. It's a cardinal sin to put anything but butter on a freshly baked sweet potato. -------------------- There are 11 types of people in the world:

To quote Reave:
I agree that the sweet potato is the finest fruit of the ground. I disagree that it must be served with butter, or that it must be baked. Steamed sweet potato is the basis for an excellent potage -- and I find that it works particularly well with cubes of mild feta or 'paneer' cheese. Fried sweet potato (deep, pan, tempura) is nifty as well, served with anything from jam to ponzu sauce. I have had excellent baked sweet potato with cinnamon & nutmeg butter, fresh salted creamery butter, or heavy sweet cream. I wouldn't want to eat it with brown sugar unless it was candied (which goes good when baked with a cloved ham). Jesus Christ, I'm hungry. -------------------- I believe in questions, not answers.

Sorry to post in a dead thread, but I only recently joined and have some topical images to add.
These were taken on a visit to South Korea earlier this year, inside a gigantic mall in Seoul (I think... it was back in May, so I don't quite remember the specifics). ![]() ![]() Its a shame Americans are too prudish to allow advertising like this here in the states... Also - that Vitamin C stuff is awesome, and has some excellent TV ads. |

Somewhat surprising given all the media attention that "an unnamed domestic milk company only identified as S" generated with its nude model stunt which resulted in "an unnamed executive" getting jail time last year.

My friend has some funny photos of Thailand. I'll see if I can borrow them from him.
